So, I decided yesterday that I would take the boys back to school shopping! Now, up until this year, I got to dress my kids anyway I saw fit! Now let’s get this straight, Mom has style and Mom has class…but for two boys who think they are cooler than her…Mom got an ego check last night.
I guess the hardest part would be that my boys aren’t the little “Thomas the Tank Engine Fans” they used to be. I have lately been witnessing how big my little Man, Caleb, is really becoming! It kind of started when he no longer is in “Childrens Church” at Church. Jason and I watch the toddlers nursery once a month and when our turn came, I got to witness that Caleb is no longer that little toddler anymore. He’s like the ‘cool’ teenager to all the little guys he once used be! So that’s been a weird one to get a grip on in itself.
So with that said, I realized yesterday…how big the boys are really getting and for the first time had to admit, they’re growing up….enjoy Jaci while she is still a toddler, because it’s all going way too fast. I’m still having a hard time swallowing that Jason and I have been married for 13 years!
So let’s just focus on what it’s like to back to school shop for the Morgan Family. Sure, the clothes have to ‘be cool’ now, ooops I’m sorry “sick cool” what is that word anyways???? I was able to get my parents in on the cool lingo, but I don’t think I am going to be able to run around and call things “sick cool!” LOL!!! So the major “issue” we have here with B2S shopping is finding “The PERFECT instyle” BACKPACK! 
Yeah, my boys at this point would go to school in their underwear and have a cool backpack, then go to school with new clothes and use their backpacks from last year! We ran into this issue slightly last year, when we decided to take “Dad” shopping with us! You see, for those of You who don’t know Jason very well, he is all about ‘things that last!’ So, every year I have bought the boys a new backpack and EVERY YEAR, their Dad has to talk about the backpack that he got when he first started school and it lasted him until he stopped carrying a backpack in High School! Without going into GREAT detail, we hear the story of this ’sturdy ol’ backpack’ ….just like everyone has heard the story from their Parents and Grandparents about walking in the snow….uphill BOTH WAYS to school, We get to hear the story of Jason’s backpack that lasted him from kindergarten to High school and how he never needed to replace it! So as the boys are fighting me on which back pack is the coolest now and what’s not, I remind them that whichever one they get….they are going to have to hear the ‘backpack’ story from their Dad when they get home! Sure enough, when we all get home last night, Jason asks the boys to show him their new clothes….well, “Ding and Dong,” go straight for their NEW COOL backpacks…. (you know I try and save all of us the trouble and grief of ‘the story’ but does anyone EVER listen to Mom???) So Jason checks out their new backpacks and his totally impressed and enthused with all the ‘gadget’ pockets and stuff. Then breaks out ‘the story!’ I should have kept my mouth shut and let the boys get what they deserved…but I couldn’t resist. So I break out into the whole, “Well, every year I was having to replace my JanSport backpack because the zippers hardley made it through the year previous…so I on the other hand HAD to replace and get a new backpack!!!” Caleb, looks at me and says, “Thanks, Mom!” So Jason, proceeds to let us all know that ‘ol’ trusty’ “his BROWN backpack” didn’t require zippers it was just a drawstring at the top that closed it up! Realizing what a NERD my husband is, I decided to let him know…”Well, Jas…you and I both know that they just don’t make things as well as they used to when we were kids! I mean….look at the “Twinkie?!?!?” Everythings cheap on a twinkie now too…it doesn’t even taste the same. Look at Hotwheels…not the same, look at the new cars…made out of fiberglass…so unfortuneatly you DID NOT save your backpack to pass down to your kids and they will never get to experience a backpack as such! REALLY???? Do we REALLY have to have this conversation EVERY year???? Do “Ding and Dong” really have to make an issue out of their new backpacks to their Dad….every year????
The Answer is, “YES!!!!!!!!!!!” The answer is, this is MY Family and I love every minute of our crazy adventures! LOL.
So, there you have it, backpacks are in and we are ready for school!!!

Well, I think everyone knows how I feel about my Man! How (til this day) I still feel like I am that little 13 year old girl in awe of “Jason Morgan!” How He, out of a fairy tale, came into my little dream world and swept me off of my feet! So what I’ll do this time, is just invite you to view one of the Happiest days of my life…Our Wedding Day!

I was totally inspired to put the fireworks I video taped with music. On mine and Jason’s honeymoon, Rik and Laura bougt us a nights stay at the Queen Mary (of which I saw a ghost in our room…NO JOKE, Rick validated when he saw something of the same nature walking the ship…true creepy story I should blog about soon given our 13 yr is coming up this weekend!) Anyway-back to the point….the Queen Mary did a fireworks show that was absolutely amazing and I thought it was so neat how they time it all with music. Something neat about just watcing fireworks…but when you put them to music it’s that much more awesome! Now-obviously, not a professional here and my camera did the best it could. So, with that all said, I hope you enjoy ‘my version’ of the Queen Mary fireworks…Ha Ha!
We watched the show up at Table Rock Lake where we played all day…then over the hill (you can see in some of the footage) Holiday Island had their show going on…it was pretty awesome!!!
